  • I was told by staff that some of the pioneering plastic surgery was done on Grafton Ward, on the Guinea Pigs (wartime pilots with burns given pioneering surgery). Some of these doctors apparently painted rude epitaphs on grave stones painted on the walls of the staff canteen.
