Mosaic installation

The last art project for Out of Sight, Out of Mind?

These pictures show staff and representatives from St Peter’s Street Day Centre installing a mosaic in the Museum of St Albans. Day centre users have been working with a local artist to produce the mosaic, which is based on Louis Wain cats.

The mosaic was officially unveiled on 18th February 2011.

  • Those who enjoyed the mosaic may also be interested in the current art exhibition at the University of Hertfordshire – Beyond Pattern – part of which is showing at the Museum of St Albans. Several of the pieces being exhibited at the University display the same intricacy and attention to detail, which are evident in the mosaic.

The show can be seen at the Art and Design Gallery, College Lane, Hatfield and runs until 30th April (www.herts.ac.uk/artsandgalleries).
