Bethlem Hospital Art for May 2013

Gods, Devils and Dreams

The Bethlem Gallery currently has an exhibition of large-scale paintings and detailed pencil drawings by Peter White. His work depicts visions and dreamscapes that take the viewer on a journey into abstracted landscapes, figures and happenings. “My exhibition reflects my experiences and my creations. There are some windows into my memory and mind, but the rest is just colour and form.”

Bethlem Royal Hospital has a strong arts programme within Occupational Therapy across the site, providing an impressive range of creative facilities. Highly trained arts staff run weekly sessions combining their specialist technical skills with a welcoming and open environment. The arts sessions are open to all patients across the hospital – some patients are established artists who simply want to use the studios to continue their practice during their stay, whilst for others it’s their first time in an art studio.

Exhibition:   Runs until 17th May, Wednesday – Friday 11am – 6pm.

Both the Gallery and the Museum are open on Saturday 11th May, 11am – 5pm.

Free entry – All welcome!
